     8MBA Accomplishments / Programs
      

   P   Awarded nearly $4 million in grants since organization was
            formed in 1993 to improve Eight Mile.
 
    P    Implemented Corridor Keeper™ Program to address code
            compliance issues and assist property owners/operators to
            rectify problems.

    P    Initiated Façade Improvement Program to provide financial
            assistance to businesses that would like to improve the exterior
            appearance of their property.

     P   Planted and maintain 29 perennial gardens along the corridor
            and constructed and maintain 11 identification signs to identify
            communities bordering Eight Mile Road.
      
     P   Coordinate annual Clean Team Campaign where communities,
            businesses and residents participate in activities to improve the
            appearance of Eight Mile Road.      

    P   Assemble the annual Leadership Luncheon, in which public
            figures from across Metro-Detroit and the state congregate to
            discuss the progress made in Southeast Michigan, particularly
            along Eight Mile Road.

     P   Present annual beautification awards, which reward businesses
            along Eight Mile Road that have put in quality time and effort
            towards enhancing the appearance of their property.

     P   Host annual law enforcement forum to coordinate Eight Mile
            Road operations to improve safety.
