Awarded $3.4 million grant to improve more than 200 bus stops and create 3 new comprehensive transit centers along Eight Mile Road.  This project is scheduled to break ground in early 2006.


Planted and maintain 27 perennial gardens along the corridor.

Created 11 identification signs to identify communities bordering Eight Mile.


Coordinate annual Clean Team Campaign where communities, businesses and residents participate in a week-long effort to improve the appearance of Eight Mile.


Assemble the annual Leadership Luncheon, in which public figures from across metro-Detroit and the state congregate to discuss the progress made in Southeast Michigan, particularly along Eight Mile Road.


Present annual beautification awards, which reward businesses along Eight Mile that have put in quality time and effort towards enhancing the appearance of their property.
